Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System

An insanely mid tier novel. It could have been cool if it had stuck to its original concept, but because of its weird romance parts, and the strange way his clan evolved, it just became strange. There is also a bunch of weird dialogue, and everything just has a forced vibe to it. Its not bad as far as translation goes, its just a little bit annoying to read. If you are bored, or really like family/clan building this is for you.

It was pretty good until a certain point when the author decided to write 350 slice-of-life chapters. The short chapters have hardly any content due to the "system. " The first 200 chapters would have easily fit into 50 normal ones. In fact, other reviews have already mentioned a lot of the other things so that I won't go into them in detail again.

Story is good at start, quite a bit unique, but around 400 chap become ur typical character and become unbearable to read just. It become your average op mc, less action, and the fight scene were divided by each pov really waste of time and the author keep putting the stat sheet which take more chap, I know I'm in the wrong and I might be j*ck*ss but. . . I'm so glad I didn't pay any chap cuz author only care about word count I know he need for the living, but no one would really love his book if he keep doing like this, also the dialogue becomes weird some times, I feel like his talking about to us and try to justify his actions. I really like at the start cuz his personality reminds Anthony from CHRYSALIS but after 300, I feel like he becomes hypocrite, I don't know why I feel that way also her wife benedal of what ever, become extremely annoying, i like her at start but her constant jealous to any women that try get at mc is annoying like i know how your feelings but plz turn it down a bit. Jesus anyway it's 1 ⭐ for, I would go 0. 5 ⭐ of possible

The story is nice, if a bit repetitive. In the early stages of the book it looks like a cultivation novel and follows the tropes quite a lot. Frankly a lot of these arcs were way longer than necessary as a result even at where I am in the story, but there is at least some variety in the world building that steers it away from this. The good comes from the wholesome moments, the bad comes from the multi-episodic mid-fight power-up moments.

This novel is so good the world building is awesome and the only problem the novel has is a few plotholes and repetitive romance but all in all a good read and u just need to read it to under what I said it's a 4. 8 and deserve to be a ranker

Well, this is not the best novel out there still it is ok, this is Your typical op mc novel. I think the idea of the story was good but the author didn't do a good job writing the story. It has many unnecessary plots and I think the author made some acr way too long than they should have been.

First few chapters are more of wholesome than interesting, plot just gets repetitive and aimless after that. Good for a light read if you aren't here for the combat

- The chapters There is a big issue about the way webnovels authors often release their chapters. The author of this work makes 14 chapters / week (and he also does 14 chapters / week on another work) and it’s really a wonder how he manages to do that much. The answer is simple. The words per chapter is really low, the author often repeats himself and he makes huge sentences to say something that could be written in just a few words. For instance, the author write a chapter from the MC POV and then say the exact same thing the next chapter but with a different POV (with blatant copy / paste). Also, the MC has a system and since at the beginning of the story he has many evolutions, the author will gently show you all the informations when he gets a new skill. The issue is, the informations take more than half the chapter size… when the author shows the informations of the MC 3 chapters in a row it’s really frustrating. These issues aren’t really a problem when you read this work illegally but if you pay, it becomes annoying, really (huge regret on my part). - The story There are no challenges. If we put aside the 20 first chapters, there are NO challenges. Sure, he was badly hurt once, but it wasn’t because the fight was hard but because he was tricked at the very end (he was also healed the next chapter…). He becomes so overpowered that most of the times, he doesn’t fight, he just let his allies do the job. It’s not a problem per se, but it’s annoying to never see the MC gives his all. The MC also doesn’t really work hard to get stronger, I mean, sure he does, but it isn’t really shown. The MC hasn’t had a single training arc (except the first chapters). He just naturally gets overpowered by eating everything. So, he never really openly trains to get stronger and he never really fights (it last 2 chapters, for real the fight of his allies are more entertaining). Let’s not talk about the story itself. It’s literally : Look how big my house is -> my wife is really too cute (he often say how cute is wife is many chapters in a row to literally say nothing… yes, this could be shortened to a single chapter…) -> let’s eat meat -> OMG a new sect, let’s save them and absorb them to create an empire -> people from the sect : OMG THE MC IS A GOD -> repeat that many times (3 times as of recent chapters). - Character Lord have mercy. The only good point is that the MC found a way to help his allies get stronger so they aren’t left behind (even if it feels overly forced : « omg i created a potion that allows you to get stronger if you drink it » yes, no real training again, just cheats and the author assume that even if it isn’t good for the story). The characters (aside a few like alma, the MC and FMC) have no backstories whatsoever, we don’t know shit about them aside their races. It’s… I mean, come on, sure why not, you can make a story where fights aren’t so important and is focused on friendship, etc. But at least give some informations about them. Sure, we’ll surely get more informations because it seems like the MC will eventually visit their tribes but come on , it has been almost 800 chapters and we have nothing ?! The character who has the biggest backstory (Alma) hasn’t even really appeared in the story yet. WTF. And I give the worst character to FMC. She is simply horrible. Again fights in this story aren’t awesome but it’s « ok ». But this girl… the only thing she does is begging the MC for food, being uselessly jealous and always saying how awesome her husband is… and it’s always the same, I’ve lost the count of how many chapters the FMC just says she finds her husband amazing and cute. I personally found a solution, if the title is « **** is so cute » I just skip the chapter, I loose literally nothing since I’ve read dozen chapters about how cute this character is. Also, again, these moment of cuteness are always the same (if we put aside the few chapters with icecream). - World building The world building is interesting but we haven’t seen anything yet. The author is good at that, we know there are incredible races, places, etc, but after 800 chapters, since the MC is always doing the same thing (saving low level sects) we haven’t seen anything yet.

The story is unique, the characters are awesome, the plot grows and peaks then grows again, the character progression is great, and I got hooked and I'm still reading till this day I hope the author never stops writing this story

it's good, i know it doesn't really deserves this muvh because how fast the story goes was but the story was pretty awesome. this is the first i see an author use so much reference and I'm not gonna lie it's like a 13-14 year old work of an author because i know very we'll because i am like that before but this is dtill awesome
